Thick gray smoke filled the air in this Dinuba neighborhood as dozens of fire fighters worked to put out the flames. At the same time, dozens of peole rushed over to see what was happening in their neighborhood on Mothers Day evening.

"When we peaked out through the sidewalk we seen that the house was burning so we came over here running to see what was going on," said Montserrat Reyes of Dinuba.

Initially crews were sent into the home, but the fire quickly became too dangerous. "The roof did get soft on us, so we pulled them out and did an exterior fire attack," said Sam Febres, Dinuba Fire Department, "This is a prolonged operation, and we did have a lot of good assistance from adjoining agencies.

Fire fighters began rotating so crews could take a break from the heat.

Action News has learned that several people were home when the fire started, but none of them were injured. However, their home and likely everything inside is now destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
