Asparagus demand goes up as supply shrinks

Demand for asparagus is going up, but farmers now say they're having a hard time meeting that demand.

Growers say the asparagus crop is smaller than anticipated this year. Early this season farmers held back on harvesting asparagus because there was little demand.

Now, farmers say they can't find enough workers to help harvest, sort and pack the crop. They say at this point it's too early to know the full impact that will have on their overall production.
