The garage of a home at 20th and R Streets went up in flames around midnight. Crews took a defensive approach -- fighting the fire from the outside because they knew the house was vacant.
Most of the garage and its contents are charred, but the dollar amount of the damage is not yet known.
A captain at the scene said a previous fire at the home damaged some of the other rooms.
