5.7-magnitude earthquake strikes near Susanville in Northern California

SUSANVILLE, Calif.

The quake struck at 8:47 p.m. and was centered near Susanville, about 145 miles north of Sacramento.

Trish Tantardino, who grew up in L.A., was in a restaurant full of people in nearby Lake Almanor when the quake struck.

"All of a sudden it started shaking, I knew immediately that it was an earthquake. I shouted out 'We're having an earthquake!' All of a sudden stuff started crashing and shaking. There was a minute of panic," she said.

There have no reports of injuries or serious damage.
