The California Highway Patrol released a photo Monday of a 32-year-old man who they hope will give them some answers.
Action News spoke with the victim's family members who say they just want whoever is responsible for the death of their loved ones to turn themselves in.
As family members watched children play they mourned another little cousin, five-year-old Jocelyn, who have been here if she wasn't killed too young.
"I just broke down. I was at a friend's house and I didn't believe it happened, I didn't know how to take it. We have never dealt with losing a family member like this, we were so close, it's horrible," Ashley Sosa, the victim's cousin, said.
On Memorial Day, Sosa and her family found renewed hope in their search for the hit-and-run driver.
That's after the CHP put out this new photo of a person of interest.
"I think it's time he reports himself. It's just better to know they have both of them," Sosa said.
Diana Jauregui, her father and two of her daughters were driving near Frankwood and Central in Fresno County just after 7:30 on Saturday evening.
That's when the CHP says a driver in a Ford pickup truck rear ended their car and took off. The impact killed both mother and daughter.
The CHP says the truck is registered to Miguel Martinez. Investigators say the 32-year-old has homes in both Dinuba and Squaw Valley.
"Right now he is just a person of interest. We want to question Mr. Martinez and he is the registered owner of the vehicle and we have been unable to locate Mr. Martinez," Sgt. Patrick Echebarne of the CHP said.
The passenger in the truck was arrested soon after the crash. They found beer bottles inside the truck and believe alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
Now the victim's family is shifting their focus to the three year old baby, Jackelyn, who survived.
"We are going to do our best to be there for her. Do what we can, spend time with her to keep things off her mind. I just hope she can get through," Sosa said.
The family says the three-year-old girl is alert but still in the hospital where she keeps asking for her mother and sister.
Meanwhile the driver could face felony vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run charges.
