Police said the incident appears to be an extreme case of road rage. The victim called 911 Saturday afternoon and told dispatchers a person was following him.
Police said a few minutes later the other driver pulled up next to the victim and opened fire. The victim's car came to a stop on the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect's car also stopped on the highway but then took off.
