Following the crash on Saturday, a total of 23 departing flights to SFO and 20 arriving flights from SFO were confirmed canceled, according to LAX spokeswoman Nancy Castles.
On Sunday, Castles said of the 100 flights to and from San Francisco, at least one-third of them were confirmed canceled for Sunday.
"It will be difficult for passengers as the airlines try to rebook them, but we do ask for their patience," Castles said. She added that LAX will continue to absorb any diverted flights if any on Sunday, as was the case on Saturday.
Castles said Sunday was already scheduled to be a very heavily booked and heavily traveled day, given that it is the last day of the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Travelers are advised to check with their airlines online or via telephone before heading to LAX.

Airlines that canceled flights between LAX and SFO are making arrangements for passengers, including rebooking flights, adding special flights if aircraft are available, bussing passengers to SFO, putting up passengers in airport-area hotels and asking passengers to return to LAX on Sunday.
Two people were killed and 182 others on board were injured when the Asiana Airlines 777 plane crash landed at SFO on Saturday. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
