Fresno County crash injures seven people, two ejected from vehicle

FRESNO, Calif.

Investigators say the driver of a red pickup truck failed to stop at the intersection and hit a white van. Inside the van, were five migrant workers who were about to start their day.

No one inside the van was wearing their seatbelts. At least two people were ejected from the vehicle.

Sgt. Leonard Sherman with the California Highway Patrol One who may have been wearing a seatbelt was the driver, however the seat belt failed, and tore from the shoulder hardens, so it actually ripped."

The intersection was closed for several hours.

A total of seven people from both cars were taken to local hospitals. One person had to be airlifted because of severe injuries.
