A civil lawsuit was filed in Tulare County this week. The parents of two girls, ages nine and ten, claim Visalia Unified School District was negligent when they continued to keep Antonio Cardova employed at Oak Grove Elementary School, even after suspicious behavior was reported to several different school officials.

Visalia Unified has declined to comment on the case.

Cardova is currently in jail facing 24 felony counts including lewd acts on a minor.

Attorneys claim the man lured children into a janitor's closet, locked the door, and touched them inappropriately.
