Killer wasps used to eradicate Asian citrus psyllid

Some citrus farmers are opting for a new kind of tool against the Asian citrus psyllid.

They are now using a killer wasp from Pakistan. The tiny insect kills psyllids by drinking their blood. Also, the female wasp can lay an egg in the psyllid's belly that destroys the bug when it hatches.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has enacted quarantines in nine states, including California. Last month, six pyllids were found in Tulare County.
