Judge says California High-Speed Rail Authority fails to comply with financial promises

FRESNO, Calif.

A judge ruled the California High-Speed Rail Authority failed to comply with the financial promises made to voters when it approved initial funding for the project five years ago.

The judge said the California High-Speed Rail Authority only identified sources of funds that were "theoretically" possible. But the judge declined to halt funding for the project and said he will hold another hearing to determine what happens next.

A date has not yet been set.
