About 6-thousand students are enrolled for the fall, and 2,100 of them will live on campus.
This year's incoming class are the first to break in the new rooms, the new furniture, and all the new amenities. Half Dome is the newest addition to student housing in U.C. Merced. For 500 students moving in, the building will be home for the school year.
The building has five stories of student housing, including three floors reserved for freshman. Construction crews finished it just in time for this year's incoming students.
