The guys spent the last several months building a "Red, White and Brew" lightweight craft to launch off the pier. They are the two-time defending People's Choice champions thanks to their radical designs.
Last year their craft only made it 43 feet before crashing into the water. They were hoping to double that at Saturday's competition.
"We're going for triple digits bro, this thing is built to fly," Raff Sencion, with team Red White and Brew said.
Team Red White and Brew ended up flying 48 feet, just out of the top three. The guys also took the People's Choice title for the third time. The chicken whisperers from San Francisco took first place and broke the world record with a flight of 258 feet.
