Visalia police say there were more than 12 car burglaries at popular shopping areas along south Mooney Boulevard over the weekend.

Detectives noticed while looking through surveillance video and witness statements, the crimes were all connected.

Officers were then led to a rural home in Pixley where they not only uncovered some of the car burglary victims' property, but a chop shop, as well.

Sgt. Ozzie Dominguez with the Visalia Police Department said, "This residence was in the middle of a field out in Pixley we did find some evidence that linked the location and the suspects there to items that had been taken during the burglaries."

Visalia police arrested Jose Castellanos for the crimes. He's in jail facing charges of possession of stolen property.
