Police use money-tracker to catch armed robbers in north Houston

HOUSTON

All three of the suspects were arrested on FM 1960 and Hayfer Road, about 10 miles away from the Game Stop they had just held up at 45 and West Road.

Authorities say the three men walked into the store. One of them then walked back to the car, and that's when the other suspect pulled out a pistol and demanded cash. Sheriff's investigators told Eyewitness News they were able to recover the money and were able to locate the gun that the suspects threw out of their car.

"At least one of the male displayed a weapon, demanded money and also stole some merchandise," said Lt. Robert Henry. "Some of the money that they stole had tracking device in the money which led us to begin to locate the vehicle."

The three men were taken into custody and will be charged with aggravated robbery. Other charges could be pending the outcome of this investigation.

None of the Game Stop store employees were injured during this incident.
