A debilitating disease set more than 500 people to action in Fresno Saturday. Walkers crossed the finish line in Copper River Ranch Saturday morning in the 14th annual Walk to Defeat ALS

Most of the participants have Lou Gehrig's disease or have family members who suffer from it. The patients are celebrating the fact that they no longer have to travel to the Bay Area for care since a doctor specializing in ALS treatment is now at UCSF Fresno.

Saturdays walk raised $85,000 to fund research and care.
