The shooting happened in a neighborhood near Clinton Avenue and Blackstone Avenue around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Police believe it all started with an argument involving several women, the victim and the suspect. They said at one point the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times.
When police arrived they found the man lying on the road and a woman who could hold clues to the crime.
"The good thing is that we do have a potential witness and hopefully we'll be able to solve this rather quickly," said Lt. Herman Silva, Fresno Police Department.
The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Police are currently looking for the suspect. There is no word on a motive for the shooting.
