Dinuba police say a man in his 50's was driving to the store and heading West on Sequoia Drive towards Alta Avenue when he heard gunfire.
Officers say the man then noticed a bullet went through a door of his car and struck him. At that point they say he pulled over to call his girlfriend who in turn called police.
Officers say he was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia.
Police do not believe the man was a target in the shooting.
