The Gutierrez family was surprised with a Saturn VUE Thursday.
This is the 5th year the Wheels of Hope program has donated a vehicle to a family in need.
Seven cars total have been given away. Local mechanics come together to fix up a car and then ask the community to nominate a deserving family.
"I'm shocked and I'm excited. And I'm ready to start driving," Wheels of Hope recipient Denise Gutierrez said.
The Wheels of Hope program gives two cars a year to a family in need one in summer and one in winter.
Organizers of the program say they don't think of it as a hand out - but a hand up - to help families get to where they need to go.
