The incident happened at a Safeway store in Oakland. At about 1 p.m., police received calls regarding a suspect who was observed entering a vehicle and reportedly forcing the driver to drive away.
The CHP said the suspect is armed with a knife and the child is an unknown 13-year-old black female. KGO-TV reported a man and the girl were in the vehicle. The kidnapper is described as a 35-year-old black male with salt and pepper hair, about 5'6" or 5'7" tall, weighing 165 pounds, wearing a green shirt and blue jeans.
They said the suspect is possibly driving a 2001 Red Infinity QX4 SUV with California License Plate Number 6JFM648.
