The fire broke out in a converted garage of a house on Milton and Ann Avenues shortly after midnight on Monday morning.
Authorities say the eight men who lived in the home woke up during the fire -- even though the smoke detectors did not work. They all got out safely and no injuries were reported.
The cause is still under investigation, but fire investigators believe an electrical issue may have been a factor.
