Officers were called to Little Monkey's Day Care at a home on Woodland Street near Laura Avenue on Friday for an unresponsive infant. When they arrived, the 5-month-old was already dead.
The Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene, but police are not calling the case a suspicious death at this point. They're still waiting for autopsy results, and they're also investigating if the day care owner has all of the proper permits.
Action News spoke with the day care owner, who said she put the infant down for a nap, and the baby never woke up.
