Amber Alert canceled: Long Beach boy safe; mother in custody

An Amber Alert that was issued for a 12-year-old boy, who authorities said was abducted in Long Beach, has been canceled, our sister station KABC-TV in Los Angeles reports.

The boy was found safe in Oceanside on Monday, and his mother was taken into custody, according to the TV station's report.

Long Beach police say the boy was abducted by his mother, identified as 49-year-old Sri Johnston, last Thursday.

Nicholas was described as a 12-year-old white male, 4' 8" tall and 80 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. The suspect, Sri Johnston, was described as a 49-year-old white female, 5' 1" tall and 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Sri Johnston was possibly driving a tan 1998 Saturn 4-door sedan with California license plate number 4AUU679.
