'Star Trek' actor Chris Pine arrested for DUI in New Zealand

WELLINGTON, New Zealand

The Hollywood actor, best known for playing Captain Kirk in the rebooted "Star Trek" film franchiase, was charged March 1 for driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit, which is .08 percent in New Zealand, police said.

New Zealand police did not name the man, but said he was stopped during a routine early-morning check near the South Island town of Methven.

Pine's agent and publicist could not be reached immediately Wednesday for comment.

The 33-year-old actor has been in New Zealand filming the movie "Z for Zachariah," expected to be released next year.
