More than 3,000 runners hit the streets of Fresno on Sunday for the California Classic Half-Marathon.

ABC30's Downtown Fresno HD Skycam captured the start of the race at Chukchansi Park. The 13.1-mile route took participants past City Hall, the Tower District and the Chaffee Zoo. Those who wanted a shorter option could enter the Rock and Run 5K instead.

Organizers moved the race to March this year to avoid the hot temperatures in May, but it was still unusually warm for this time of the year.

The California Classic cycling events are still scheduled for May 17.
