Police say they were responding to a call around 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening, where a man with a knife was allegedly threatening someone in a house.
At some point, police say the man charged them with the knife, and they were forced to shoot.
The suspect was flown to a nearby hospital. There is no word on his condition at this time.
Lt. Sam Joseph with the Atwater Police Department said the officers were not hurt.
