Clovis school hosts Relay for Life event

CLOVIS, Calif.

About 200 participants were expected to camp at the Clovis school's track until 9 a.m. Sunday. The group committed to spending 24 hours there to help raise awareness for cancer.

Earlier on Saturday, they held a luminaria ceremony -- lining the track with lighted paper bags in honor of those who have fought cancer and those currently battling the disease.

The event raised several thousand dollars for the American Cancer Society.
