The resort received about 40 inches of fresh snow in the last week, which is about half of the season's total snowfall. The resort was hoping to make it through Easter weekend, but the warm temperatures forced them to close earlier.
China Peak will reopen in the summer for mountain biking. Opening weekend is June 28 and 29, and the resort is offering free lessons and tickets to celebrate.
