Dozens of local World War II veterans will be traveling to visit their memorial in Washington, D.C., for the first time later this month thanks to the Central Valley Honor Flight.

On Saturday, the veterans met with their guardians who will be accompanying them on their trip. They also received their special Honor Flight travel bags, jackets and hats.

Seventy-three veterans will make the trip of a lifetime to salute their fallen comrades at the World War II Memorial.

Action News anchor Warren Armstrong will once again be traveling to Washington with the Central Valley Honor Flight veterans and covering their visit to the memorial.
