Action News talks with Mrs. California

FRESNO, Calif.

Over the weekend the Fresno teacher, business owner, and mother of two, won her fifth title.

As a second grader, her mother entered her into her first beauty pageant, as a way to break her out of her shell. But through the years, collected crown after crown: holding the title as Miss Fresno County 2004, Miss Tulare County 2005 and Miss Fresno County 2014.

McIntyre traveled to Southern California with her army of supporters- including friends, family and her college sweetheart husband, who she met when they both played basketball for Fresno State.

"My husband is incredible he is my best friend," said McIntyre. "He's always been my number one fan. He used to sit in the stands when I played at Fresno State next to my dad even before we were dating."

For her next competition in July, McIntyre promises to do her best to represent the city she's called home for the past 14 years.

For that pageant, there's an evening wear competition, bikini competition, and an interview portion.

The Fresno mother of two is also hoping with her latest win, she will be able to focus more on her platform of infertility support, and help other women going through the challenges her family has gone through.

The adoption for her second child, Matthew- just finalized on Friday, serving as an extra exciting weekend for the McIntyre family. Her message for others hoping to follow in her footsteps: "Stop the negative voice in your head. If you don't stop your own negativity -- you're never gonna get ahead."
