Suspect injures Fresno Police dog, officers say

FRESNO, Calif.

Officers say during the exchange 31-year-old Jonathan Alexander hit a woman who was holding a baby. Police say Alexander then ran into the house with a different child. After trying to coax Alexander from the home, officers sent in Tico, a police dog. When Tico confronted Alexander, officers say Alexander punched the dog several times in the nose.

The dog was treated and released from a veterinary hospital. Alexander now faces several charges including domestic violence, child endangerment, and assault on a police dog.
