Sheriff's helicopter helps dry Clovis Rodeo Grounds after storm

CLOVIS, Calif.

Eagle One assisted the Clovis Rodeo Association in drying out the grounds before Saturday's events. The helicopter hovered above the arena and used its blades to fan the mud.

"It doesn't happen very often. We try not to do this, but this year was an exception. We got to make things right for the cowboys," said Ron Dunbar with the Clovis Rodeo Association.

Since the wet grounds were a safety concern, Sheriff Margaret Mims granted the request. The helicopter was at the grounds for several hours in the morning on this special assignment.
