Police are searching for two suspects in a violent carjacking in Northwest Fresno.

It happened at an apartment complex on Figarden Drive near Santa Fe Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers say a man went outside to move his car when someone hit him in the back of his head with a gun or a pipe. He walked back inside, told his wife he was robbed, and then collapsed. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Police quickly found the stolen car stuck in the mud about two miles away. They believe the suspects lost control of the Mazda and went off the shoulder.
