Weapons stash seized in Southwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

Authorities arrested 53-year-old Kenneth Maxwell Thursday night at a home on Vine near Fig. They say Maxwell had about six weapons including two assault rifles and several clips.

Authorities say there was something different about this particular operation. "What's significant about this seizure is that a location belonging to an older gang member, believed to be pioneered one of the Southwest Fresno gangs. He's considered what we call "original gangster" (OG), also commonly referred to as "big homie."

Authorities say since Maxwell is no longer on probation or parole, it was easier for him to lend out guns to current gang members from this home.

No shots were fired during Maxwell's arrest. He is now facing several weapons charges.
