Officers said they received a call of shots fired near West 9th Street and N Street around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 15-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Merced Police believe the crime may be gang related. This is the fifth homicide of this year, and the second juvenile to be killed.
Anyone who witnessed the crime is asked to contact authorities.
