Homicide investigation NE of Kerman in Fresno County

FRESNO, Calif.

Fresno County Sheriff's deputies say the man's body was discovered around 6:00 Thursday night on Howard near Shields, northeast of Kerman.

Deputies are searching for a third suspect in this homicide investigation. They are working with a huge area, including multiple crime scenes.

Deputies say the suspects crashed their car -- then bailed out and took off running.

Action News arrived to the scene to find a woman in the back of a Fresno County Sheriff's deputy patrol car. We're told she and another man were pulled out from beneath a bridge that crosses Highway 145.

Deputies credit witnesses for the quick arrests and say it's not typical for someone to help them with such a good description of the suspects, and the crime scene.

Chris Curtice with the Fresno County Sheriff's Department explained, "We don't normally get the smoking gun type cases, if you will. We usually get what you call body dumps. We get bodies that are found out here in rural areas and the scenes are usually huge for us."

Shields Avenue is closed several blocks east of Highway 145 while deputies conduct their investigation.
