Authorities find body in a west-central Fresno canal

FRESNO, Calif (KFSN) -- Fresno Police Department is investigating a body found in a canal on Marks Avenue and Nielsen.

Authorities say the body has been there for days, if not weeks, and they were unable to tell the race or sex of the victim. They are waiting for an autopsy to confirm the person's identity and the cause of death.
