TULARE COUNTY (KFSN) -- An autopsy reveals the man who was involved in an hours-long standoff with SWAT officers in Tulare County died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Tulare County Coroner is calling Juan Delgado's death a suicide. It happened last Wednesday at a home on Grandview near Avenue 324 just north of Visalia.

Deputies said Delgado barricaded himself in the home. Negotiators and family members were not able to talk him out.

After 11 p-m, the house caught fire and deputies believe Delgado started the fire.

Family members said Delgado had a gun and was making criminal threats.

Hours later, Delgado was found dead by deputies and fire personnel.
