FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno beef processing plant Cargill installed a new battery system that will be used during peak electricity use times. The company estimates the new Tesla technology will save more than $100,000 a year in energy costs.

The owner of Tesla, Elon Musk, released a similar battery system called the Powerwall this week to power homes. It generates power using solar panels, or collects energy when utility rates are low, then powers your home when you need it using the backup electricity supply. It is pricey, though, at about $3,000.
