Hyatt Place coming to Northeast Fresno
The hotel is going in at Fresno Street near Alluvial, across the street from Kaiser Permanente and adjacent to Highway 41. It's planned opening is in 2019.

FRESNO, Calif,. (KFSN) -- Visitors will soon have another place to stay in the Valley because a new hotel is going up in northeast Fresno. The Hyatt Place Fresno is the newest business heading to the area.

"It's going to have 126 rooms," Jessica Sethi with Sethi Management said. "We're going to have quite a bit of meeting space for events and conferences. It'll have all the normal hotel amenities along with a restaurant and a bar, which is rare for this because the hotels here are limited service. So, it will be a full-service hotel."

The Sethi and Baz families are the developers of the property, which is going in at Fresno Street near Alluvial, across the street from Kaiser Permanente and adjacent to Highway 41.

"This is a prime spot in Fresno," Sethi said. "There's a lot that's been here for many years and there's a lot of new construction in the area."

The family says River Park and new shopping centers nearby like Park Place also bring more people to the area. The family owns Holiday Inn down the street.

Sethi says the new Hyatt will also come with new opportunities.

"Anywhere from 40 to 50 jobs," she said. "We will probably start hiring later next year."

Council member Garry Bredefeld says the there's a trickle down effect from a new business.

"So, we welcome all jobs all businesses no matter where they come from," he explained. "That's what we need in Fresno. We still have a high unemployment rate, we're higher than other parts of the state so we've got to do everything we can to lower it."

Customers are expected to visit the Hyatt Place Fresno when it comes in 2019.
