Local craft beer brewer opening new pub restaurant in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Locally crafted beer has become the inspiration for a new pub restaurant.

Construction is underway in Clovis at the future home of Riley's Brew Pub. The restaurant will soon serve craft beer enthusiasts and their need for local brew.

"The craft beer, I would say, is a lifestyle. It's the difference. Like, why have a Harley or a Honda," said Dan Riley, Riley's Brew Pub.

Riley is the owner of Riley's Brewing Company, but he's embarking on a new venture with Fresno restaurant owner Michael Shirinian to build a pub featuring Riley's craft beer.

Since Riley started his craft beer company in 2011, business has boomed. Back in 2014 Action News got to take a look inside his brewing facility, since then he has started selling across California and expanded his beer varieties. Riley's has also started making hard drinks.

"We're Doing a huge half-million dollar expansion at the brewery. We're going to get up to 20,000 cases a month, right now we're at about 5,000 cases a month. It's all we can do too, we still can't fill all the orders at that velocity."

Now his new pub will allow Riley's brewing to not only brew more beer but to develop their flavors while offering people a place to try varieties.

"This allows us to basically play, it allows my brewers to go mad scientist, hog wild, and say, let's keep making stuff and see what people say."

Shirinian said he's excited about this new open and industrial concept.

"We're going to have a wonderful high tech looking brewpub, with a full bar and featuring all of Dan's brews and great pub fare, healthy sandwiches, and salads, tri-tip, and burgers, an array of things."

Shirinian said the research and technology park was the ideal location for the start of the pub. He said they expect around 60 people to work at the new facility and will take applications this summer.

Riley's Brew Pub is expected to be open to craft beer enthusiasts this October.
