Much-anticipated Cracker Barrel restaurant not coming to Fresno after all

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Action News has learned the much anticipated Cracker Barrel restaurant will not be coming to Fresno after all.

Back in May, local retail broker Commercial Retail Associates reported to the Fresno Bee's leases section that Cracker Barrel had signed a lease.

The country-style store and restaurant was slated for the southwest corner of Herndon Avenue and Riverside Drive - part of the Marketplace at El Paseo near Highway 99.

The shopping center also had Cracker Barrel listed on its website as "coming soon," but the name was recently removed.

It's not known what caused the deal to fall through here in Fresno.
