FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Big times are not quite back, but the line that could wrap around the fairgrounds commerce building at least twice suggests otherwise.

For a seventh year hundreds of job seekers vied for positions at the Big Fresno Fair.

"The one thing that qualifies all of them is job ethic. Willingness to be enthusiastic and enjoy the fair," said Georgie Dayton, Guest Services Supervisor.

Supervisors looking to fill 500 positions, ranging from parking and ticket sellers to concessions, met with applicants one on one.

Central High West graduate Dominic Madero, spent four years in FFA-- most of them showing at the Big Fresno Fair, now he hopes to work the front gate, a responsibility he is ready to take on.

"When you smile at someone you shake their hand firm-it is great. That first impression of greeting someone it all ties in real well together."

Attracting more than 600,000 people each year, the BFF is the fifth largest fair in the state.

"When I was a kid I couldn't sleep the night before, I'm still that way. I get so excited," said Dayton.

Since the age of 11 Dayton saved her money from picking grapes to attend the Big Fresno Fair every year. Her love for the fair continues to grow-- so much she has been working in guest services for the last decade, making sure people leave even more excited than when they came.

"When you invest that kind of money we want to make it count. We want to make them happy that dollar was well spent."

The Big Fresno Fair runs October 4th to the 15th.
