CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Get your running shoes ready because the Clovis Police Department and Rush 10-8 are hosting a fun and challenging obstacle course.

It's called Epic Series and it's the first of its kind in the valley.

Jorge Gomez, a captain with the Clovis Police Department, said that this event is for all skill levels even kids. He added do not worry there is no mud involved.

This event will be held at Sierra Meadows Park.

Gomez explained that there are several different obstacles to choose from. They range from jumping over walls and boxes to archery and balance beams. He said a portion of the proceeds from this event go to the Clovis Police Foundation.

"The Clovis Police Foundation sponsors a lot of great benefits. It gives money to organizations," Gomez explained. "The money that goes into that goes directly back to the community that's why we are excited to raise money for the foundation".

Gomez mentioned he and a few of the officers participated in an Epic Series event in Southern California and really enjoyed it. He hopes they can get as many people as possible to participate in Epic Series because they want to make this an annual event.

Volunteers are also needed for this event.
