FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno State Bulldogs kicked off their annual Helping Hams campaign.

For the last ten years, they have been helping students and the community by donating hams to those in need.

Fresno State students help prepare the hams using a recipe developed by students.

This year they hope to spread holiday cheer by donating 250 hams.

They are nearly halfway there on their first day thanks to a donation from RCO AG Credit.

It pledged $3500 this year's Helping Hams campaign.

The hams will go to charitable organizations who will then distribute them.

"I wholeheartedly endorse this campaign and I want to appeal to all of our university community friends from around Fresno and the valley to contribute to this cause and to bring cheer those in need and help feed the hungry in our community."

If you would like to help Fresno State reach their goal of 250 hams, drop off your donation at the Fresno State Gibson Farm Market by December fourth.

Checks can also be dropped off.

Charitable organizations can apply to receive the hams here.
