FRESNO, Calf. (KFSN) -- Day one brought a long line to the Big Fresno Fair for one dollar Wednesday--some people headed straight to the Fresno County historical museum to see what is new.

"Well, everything's colorful. I love the murals they have here and all the photography's really nice," said Gael Robinson.

The museum has expanded. It is opened a new community cultural center which highlights Fresno's diverse background.

"Being a history buff I just love all this stuff about the different cultures we have in the valley," said Michael Scarabello.

The new Bugology exhibit will be popular with families. Kids will be drawn to the giant praying mantis and the giant grasshopper as they make their way around the shaded spot. The Timberworks Lumberjack Show is on target to entertain the crowd.

The show highlights timber sports and you'll have to take sides when the lumberjacks compete against each other.

"Several different events, chopping, sawing, speed climbing, log rolling. We're going to be doing some chainsaw events and a little chainsaw carving as well," said Dave Weatherhead.

Weatherhead and his crew came in from Wisconsin to put on several daily shows at the fair--no doubt the log roll will bring smiles to everyone who stops by.

"If for no other reason they love to watch the lumberjacks get wet and we always do," said Weatherhead.

Logan Aldean was getting in some extra practice before the show. As you can see you have to be nimble on your feet to stay dry.

"You wait for the other guy to make a mistake and it can be the tiniest mistake but you try to capitalize on your opponent's mistake," said Aldean.

The Lumberjacks are located right next to the Bugology exhibit near the Butler Avenue gate.
