Non profit hosts fundraiser to help low-income families, disabled adults

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Advancing Independence had a Mardi-Gras themed party in Northwest Fresno to raise money for individuals who receive scholarships through the program.

The executive director says they provide basic home furnishings, moving costs, clothes, and food to prevent homelessness among people with disabilities.

Over 200 people attended Saturday's fifth annual event. The organization's goal was to raise $50,000.
