Driver dies after rollover crash in a rural part of Fresno County

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The crash happened just after midnight in the area of Chateau Fresno and Davis -- near the small town of Burrel.

CHP officers say the driver was southbound on Chateau Fresno when he lost control of a GMC pickup, overcorrected, sideswiped a telephone pole, then rolled several times. The driver was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP officers say he was not wearing his seatbelt. Several empty and full beer bottles were also found in the area. However, there is no word if the driver was under the influence.
