FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Many Valley students are out of school because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

To help keep them occupied the Fresno Chaffee Zoo is offering fall camp. It runs through Wednesday with three different age groups.

Cubby Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon and little ones ages three to five can take part in games and art projects.

For kids ages five to eleven there's the Adventure Camp that helps foster an appreciation and understanding of animals. The older kids, ages 11 to 17, have a chance to actually shadow a zookeeper and get behind-the-scenes.

"It's really fun to do art about what you're learning about," said seven-year-old Genevieve Hamaker.

"Our mission is education based. And so it's a way to provide an opportunity that children don't normally have because they are in school. So this way during our vacations kids can come and learn even that much more about animals," said Grace Hamaker, Zoo Program Coordinator.

Prices for the different age group camps run from $33 to $75 per day.
