FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Dozens of students got to know their classmates at Fresno State this weekend with some help from a popular fruit.
On Sunday, the university hosted its annual Watermelon Games on campus. The event divided students into teams competing to chug watermelon drinks and finish a watermelon slice. The winners walked away with gift cards to local restaurants and even got a golden foil-wrapped watermelon.
The games give incoming freshmen the chance to network and meet other students before the school year even starts.
